Fall Sports Update

To all of our Viking Athletics Fans, we want to clarify some important information about fall sports and the protection of the athletes for our entire conference.  As schools reopen and we return to athletic competition, the conference has followed state recommendations and guidelines in regard to spectators, mask policy, and general safety for the benefit of all the athletes, families, and communities in our conference.

Athletes will be provided no more than six passes for immediate family only.  No additional students or community members will be allowed into athletic contests as spectators.

Masks and social distancing will be required at indoor sporting events for spectators and athletes.  Masks are strongly encouraged at outdoor events like cross country and football.  Families attending contests should physically distance themselves from other families.

Conference wide there will be no concessions this fall.  All Lakeland schools are also discussing ways to do our best to live stream as many contests as we can so spectators can still see the sports on the We Are Network.  Each school also has the ability to decrease the number of family passes issued to each athlete if their facility cannot safely seat all of the spectators.  All of these decisions will be revisited at the conclusion of fall sports.

Thank you for your understanding and support of our athletes during these challenging times.
