Other Learning Opportunities

Looking for ways to volunteer your time? Do you want to give back to your community? Are you looking for ways to meet the 40 hour community service requirement for graduation? Below is a list of just a handful of current available opportunities for you to get involved and give back:

Farm, Feral, & Stray

Type of Work: Animal rescue work for local non-profit organization.

Round Trade Lakes Association

Type of Work: Clean boats, clean waters, stream monitoring, and loosestrife beetle rearing and physical removal.

FHS/Luck Track Meets
Contact:  Ethan Bergstrom, Athletic Director
Type of Work: Various activities from timing to moving hurdles to set-up and tear-down. Be prepared to be outdoors in all nature of Spring weather.

Frederic Food Shelf

Type of Work: Thursdays and Saturdays - organizing, sorting food for distribution

Habitat for Humanity

Types of Work: sorting scrap metal, test and complete minor repairs for electronics, accept and clean donations, house construction (must be 16 years of age), A Brush with Kindness projects, site hosts, and lunch preparation/coordination.

Interfaith Community Caregivers

Types of Work: varied, snow removal for elderly community members in Frederic

Special Olympics

Types of Work: support event competition for disabled athletes (throughout the year)

Frederic/Luck AYSO Soccer Club
Contact:  Prudence Lahti,
Type of Work:  Serve as referee for soccer games.  Games take place on Thursday evenings (Pre-K and K) and Saturday mornings (All other ages). Primary need is Saturdays.  Mid April - Early June.  Additionally, need coaches (must be age 18) and assistant coaches (may be under age 18).  Training is available.  Experience is not necessary.   Also looking for individuals to help with field maintenance.

Village of Frederic 
Contact:  Prudence Lahti,
Type of Work:  Serve as poll worker for elections held at the Frederic Village Hall.  Dates vary based on election year, both spring and fall.  Must be age 16 or 17, enrolled in grades 9 to 12, and have at least a 3.0 gpa or equivalent (state requirements).  Duties may include registering voters, issuing ballots, counting ballots, assisting voters, etc.

Comforts of Home - Senior Caregiving

Type of Work:  Senior residents love watching young people perform; may be able to play games or do other volunteer hours

Salvation Army Bell Ringers
Type of Work:  Ringing bells at grocery stores
