ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES
Bootcamp - AM Fitness
Tu/Th from 5:45-6:30am (Jan. -May)
Online Instr: Cassie McKenzie
FEE: $45/10-class punch card (good for 3 mo.) or $5/class
This bootcamp-style class will include different circuit training and Tabata workouts using body weight and dumbbells. Each class will include a mix of cardio, strength training, and core exercises. All exercises can be modified from high to low intensity to accommodate all fitness levels. Class will end with a 5-minute ab/core workout. You will need an exercise mat, light free weights, and a water bottle. A Google Meet link will be sent after registration is complete. A class recording will be available if you cannot attend the live class.

Pickleball is here to stay and can be enjoyed by all ages! Enjoy indoor pickleball throughout the school year. Annual membership includes organized community playtime, use of pickleball equipment, and the gym. Further membership details will be provided after registration. While we attempt to keep a consistent schedule, there may be cancellations. The schedule will be kept up-to-date on the Playtime Scheduler App (free registration at Playtime Scheduler is required to access this info). Come give it a try! Your first visit to the gym is free!

Balancing It Out - Improve Your Flexibility, Strength & Balance

Balancing It Out is a program that offers a gentle way to regain motion, flexibility, balance, and stamina. It is a short, safe exercise program that most people can easily do. Most of the exercises are performed in a standing position with the use of a sturdy chair for balance and support. The program uses Classical Stretch DVD curriculum (with PBS Fitness Host, Miranda Esmonde White) beginning with a gentle warm-up & working into stretching all 600 muscles. The class will focus on flexibility, strength, and balance to decrease the risk of falls and improve overall quality of life. The program is geared toward ages 65+, but all ages are welcome. This reduced fee is offered because of a grant received from the Northwest Alliance Community Foundation, an affiliate of the St. Croix Valley Foundation.

Intro To Women’s Self-Defense

The Women's Stay Away program teaches women how to defend themselves against the most common attacks they might face. These techniques are easy to learn in a relatively short time and you will learn the tools necessary to defend yourself. Join us in this hands-on workshop to learn boundary-setting techniques and how to defend against a larger opponent. Females ages 14+ may register.
Composting 101
Monday - Apr. 22 from 6-8pm

Whether you mulch a small patch of perennials or have acres of garden to tend, composting is beneficial. Home composting is a method to manage yard materials and food scraps at the source. Not only is composting an effective tool to keep these materials out of landfills, but it also produces a finished product valued by gardeners everywhere. Discussion will include vermiculture composting and easy ideas for building a compost bin and sifter. Red wiggler composting worms will be available to participants. Barb is a UW-EX Master Composter.
ATV Safety

If you were born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, you must complete an ATV safety certification course to operate an ATV on Wisconsin public trails and areas. DNR Conservation Wardens recommend ATV operators complete a safety course. All materials will be provided. Students should dress to be outdoors for approximately 15 minutes during the first class. Preregistration is required by Apr. 13th at gowild.wi.gov.

Floral Glass Painting - Wine or Water Glasses

Paint beautiful spring flowers on a pair of elegant glasses. Erika will guide you through the process step-by-step. You'll use acrylic glass paint to create stunning flowers on two glasses, and written instructions will be provided for you to set the paint via baking at home. This workshop is open to all experience levels. Please specify whether you prefer wine or water glasses. Class size is limited. Registration deadline is Apr 15.

You will learn how to correct common posture problems and learn an ‘Instant Alignment Technique’ that will have you standing straighter immediately. Also, learn easy-to-implement tips when at a computer, in a car, or working out. There are many benefits to improving posture and no matter how long you may have had poor posture, it is never too late to make improvements. Your clothes will fit better, too! A resistance band is needed for some of the exercises if you choose to participate.
