Are you interested in becoming a Substitute Teacher?
The Frederic School District is seeking to expand its Substitute Teacher pool. For these positions we can utilize individuals that have regular Teacher licenses, Substitute Teacher licenses, and Three-Year Short-Term Substitute licenses often referred to as permit licenses.
If you have any of these licenses, you can download the Employment Application. Once you have this paperwork completed, you can bring it along with your license to the Frederic District Office located at 1437 Clam Falls Dr., Frederic, WI 54837.
If you do not have a Teacher or Substitute license, you will need to apply for a Three-Year Short-Term Substitute. To do so you need the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree;
- A Substitute Teacher Training Certificate; and
- An interest in working with students in a classroom setting
To obtain a Substitute Teacher Training Certificate, you will need to PARTICIPATE in a Substitute Teacher Certification Training program. The Wisconsin DPI-approved online substitute teacher training is available at https://stedi.org/wi/. The CESA 11 website, www.cesa11.org, also offers Substitute Teacher Training workshops for certification at various times throughout the year.
To apply for the Three-Year Short-term Substitute License, GO TO www.dpi.state.wi.us. Under the Schools & Educators drop-down menu, scroll to Licenses and select Educator Licensing. In the left-hand column, under Licensing (in white), select the arrow next to Apply for Educator License, scroll to Substitute Licenses, click there and then scroll down to select Three-Year Short-Term Substitute. Click there and the page providing application information will open.
FOLLOW the directions listed under How to Apply for a Three-Year Short-Term Substitute License. When you log in to Educator Licensing Online, you will get directed to the on-line educator licensing portal. Complete the four items and then Login to ELO. There you will see the Quick Start Menu. Please follow the instructions that are provided to start the licensing process.
The Access ELO Cart and Additional Activities section is self-explanatory. In the Apply for a License section, select Teacher Category from the Choose Category drop-down menu; select S–Teacher Short-term Substitute License (T910) from the Choose License Type drop-down menu; and select Teacher – Request Short-term Substitute License (1910) from the Choose Application drop-down menu. Somewhere in this section, you will upload the scanned transcripts and scanned certificate.
The entire process will be completed when it prompts you for credit card information to pay for the Three-Year Short-Term Substitute License. Please contact the District Office at Frederic School District to confirm that you have finished the application process. This will expedite your activation as a substitute teacher.
